Page Notes ~ Snow

Posted on by

Today’s Page Notes is a little taste from Snow, Enigma, Book # 1. Enjoy.

Snow stared at the man who she had been attracted too. Now she didn’t dare even think of giving in. He was the same type of being as was her stepmother who had tried to kill her.

“I’m nothing like her.” He said.

“You didn’t read my mind so I wonder how you would know what I was thinking.” Snow knew he hadn’t.

She would have felt it and stopped it.

“Your face said it all.” Kyrian stared at her. “Judging me by what your stepmother did is a disservice to me and anyone one that is my kind. Not all of us are evil or power mad.”

“Well history speaks for what your kind has done. Having warm fuzzies for your kind is hard seeing as many have already set the trend.”

“They have. But just as there is some bad in each type of being so are there in mine.”

“Says the God who can obliterate most beings who walk this earth with a thought.” Snow retorted.
“My thoughts of you are of a somewhat softer nature.” Kyrian smiled.

“No flirting with our sister.” All her brothers said at once.

She felt their concern washing over her in waves. Snow knew they were agitated if she could even sense it since they usually had better control than that. She lifted her hand to quite them.
They all fell silent. She studied Kyrian.

“I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt.” She paused. “For now. But if I feel you are being anything but honest with me your ass is mine.”

“Ditto.” He paused too. “Except there are so much more pleasurable things I want to do to you.”

Her brothers started to close-in on him. Snow lifted her hand again and they stopped but she could tell they were not pleased.

“In your dreams. Now to business. Can you find my father?”

“Of course.” Kyrian inclined his head. “It has already started. Takes a God to track another like us. I will find the Goddess for you and we will get your father back.”

“Good.” She studied him. “And you will not get in my way when I kill her.”

“Nope.” He shrugged. “Although it might not be as easy as you think.”

Snow smiled a slow cold grin. “I know it isn’t but this time I won’t make the same mistake and show mercy.”

Kyrians’ eyes darkened and he lowered his head. Snow put her hand on his chest holding him off.

“No kissing. Find dad first…” She studied him. “Then maybe you can take me on a date if you are lucky.”

“I’m feeling very lucky.” He replied.

She snorted then gestured for him to lead the way. He pivoted and headed off. Snow noticed the silence around her and looked at her people then the STIF crew. They all looked shocked.

“What?”

“Kyrian doesn’t do that.” Mischa gestured between them.

Snow frowned not sure what she was referring too.

“Act all flirty.” Mischa scowled. “If you make my best hunter soft I will kill you.’”

Snow knew she meant it. She also knew Kyrian wasn’t in anyway soft. The man was on a hunt and she knew she was his target. But Mister Sexy and Godlike will learn soon enough she wasn’t prey but the predator.
