Today’s Page Brief features characters from Unpredictable Dare, Impulse, Book #7. Enjoy!
From time to time there’s multi-part Page Brief’s that go together. I think of it as a Page Brief Serial and I name them. The below Page Brief Serial Phenomenon Objectives features the books at the time I wrote these Page Brief’s that were available in my Impulse series. Eventually when books are released in the Impulse series an Page Brief might be written and if it is it will be added to the Phenomenon Objectives Page Brief Serial. So this Page Brief Serial is a continuous one (at my discretion/time permits).
Phenomenon Objectives is a multi-part Page Brief Serial and best read in order for the most enjoyment. They are usually in order of the Impulse series for which they are written about (unless otherwise noted).
This might be a rough draft so excuse any typos and so on.

“Alec watched from the doorway. He smiled as he saw she was lost in a book. That was her usual way to relax.
“Nolan.” He called softly so as not to startle her.
She lifted her head. Her light gray gaze was glazed. He stifled a chuckle. It was her usual when she was reading and was pulled out of a book.
“Nope…you know the rule.” She glared at him.
Alec was again drawn in by those eyes which, against her honey-toned skin, captured him. Nolan’s beauty went way beyond skin. It was in everything she did. She had a personality to match, was sassy and his. She studied him.
“Nope…none of that sexy look. You know the rule.” She smiled causing those dimples he wanted to kiss to flash.
“No disturbing you when you are reading.” Alec had heard her say that often and respected the rule…well mostly he did or tried to.
She blew him a kiss. “Good.” She lowered her head.
Before she could start reading again Alec said. “Let’s have an adventure.”
Nolan looked at him again. “Ohhh…here or someplace else.”
“Someplace else.” Alec walked over to her and held out his hand.
She placed hers in his and let him pull her up off the couch. She looked at her sandals and went to slip them on.
“No need for those.” He pulled her close to him. “I have us set up in the backyard.”
“Ahhh…a close to home adventure.” Nolan smiled.
Her smile reached her eyes. Alec loved her glow of happiness. It took his breath away. He kissed her gently then led her to the sliding glass doors. He opened it and led her outside.
“The other day when I told Vanessa I was headed home to have an adventure with you she almost hurt herself.”
“Huh.” Alec went to the hammock. “Why would she almost hurt herself?”
“She was laughing so hard because she thought I was referring to sex.” Nolan rolled her eyes. “She thought that was our code for it.”
Alec stopped and stared at her. “Really.” He chuckled. “At least that’s better than how some of our friends were calling it Uno. That confused me. I thought they were talking about the game since we are all so crazy about it. But when I found out it was, so they don’t have to think of their siblings or friends having sex they made me wonder.”
“No need to wonder.” Nolan smiled. “All of them are weird.”
“True.” Alec continued and stopped by the hammock.
“I see you already have us set up for our adventure.” Nolan held up her book. “Yours or mine.”
The table next to the hammock had his book and some other things. The pitcher was filled with lemonade and he has already poured them each a glass.
“How about we start with yours then finish with mine.”
“Yep.” Nolan winked.
Alec got in the hammock and leaned back. He helped her get settled against him. She snuggled in.
“You know you’re telling me about Vanessa laughing now makes sense why Stephen laughed when I told him the same thing. About the adventure.” Alec laughed. “He didn’t tell me why he was laughing.” He paused. “I wonder how many of them think that we’re having sex when we talk about adventure.”
“Probably all of them.” Nolan shook her head. “All weird.”
“Yep.” He pulled her closer. “So did you correct Vanessa on what we mean by adventure?”
“Yes.” Nolan sighed. “It just made her laugh harder.”
“Why?”
“Because all of the weirdo’s were talking about how we seemed to have a lot of adventures.” Nolan snorted. “And since they told Asher what they thought we meant by adventures,” She chuckled. “she wanted adventures with Terrance.”
Alec laughed and couldn’t seem to stop.
Nolan smacked him on the arm. “Stop laughing. Asher has been texting me about what sort of Adventures I found was the most fun. You know she had a warped filter.”
He finally controlled himself. “Why didn’t you correct her?”
“I did. I even sent her a list of our adventures. Thank God, she finally believed me.”
Alec inhaled and held in his laugh. A ding caught his attention. He picked up his cell where he had set it on the table beside him. Nolan’s cell was also beside his. Hers made a sound also. She picked up hers as he unlocked his cell. He read the text and laughed.
“Shit, it’s Asher again.” Nolan muttered. “I hope she isn’t sending me any more links.”
“Links?”
“She thought I was being shy so sent me some links she found adventurous.” Nolan chuckled. “They were…let’s say interesting. I hope Terrance is flexible.”
“We’ll check out these links later.” Alec kissed her by her ear.
“I bookmarked them,” She looked at him over her shoulder.
“Good.” Alec smiled. “So, what does Asher have to say?”
“She sent a picture and says she is enjoying adventures with Terrance.” Nolan held the phone so he could see.
Alec closed his eyes. “Ummm…I really don’t want to see a naked Terrance.”
“It’s not that sort of picture.” Nolan said drily. “She believed me about the sort of adventure we have and decided to have the same with Terrance.” Nolan’s phone dinged again then again then a whole lot of dings. “Wow. So many of our friends and family by blood and choice are having adventures. The adventure is spreading.”
Alec opened his eyes and looked as Nolan read the texts from their friends and family by blood and choice.
“Maybe we should suggest a get together for us to all have an adventure together.”
“Sure.” Nolan paused. “But we need to make sure Asher understands what kind of adventure we are having. Nothing sexual.” Nolan muttered. “And some of the others also. They are weird.”
The phones, both his and hers, continued to buzz with messages. He took the cell from her and set his and hers down on the table beside them.
“We’ll get back to them later. For now, let’s get our own adventure started.”
“Who texted you?” Nolan asked.
“Terrance. He was thanking me for the adventure. And has a whole bunch of emojis. I didn’t know what most of them meant.” Alec chuckled. “I had no idea if he was referring to the adventure we do or the sexy one everyone though we were doing.”
“Weird. All strange.”
“And since we are friends or related then so are we.” Alec tapped the book she held.
“Of course.” She chuckled. “And I’m good with that.”
“Me too. Now onto the adventure.”
“This was the best idea I had.” Nolan sounded smug.
“It was. Reading together is awesome. Reading to each other from whichever book we might be reading is an adventure.” Alec remembered when she had first told him – let’s have an adventure.
He had thought she was referring to something else. Although he hadn’t told her that. He knew she knew. Yeah, his mind had went down the sexy rabbit hole. But when she explained he was all in. They both loved to read. They read many of the same genres too. They’d had many rousing discussions about the books.
“Let’s have an Adventure!” He turned her head then kissed her.
When he released her, she winked then turned. She opened the book then started to read. Alec relaxed ready to enjoy their latest adventure.
