Still hard at work combining some of the series I had planned. I woudl be finished but I keep stopping and reading what I wrote then I get caught up in story and add notes. LOL. So still working on that..

Did my first blog at the SIA Blog  yesterday. Each week Thursday’s will be my blog day.

Didn’t get any writing done on Beyond the Surface. Read above for reason why. Oh yeah I did realize BTS will be longer than I had planned so will take more time. Will have to work on that this week. Beyond the Surface is a book set in Trescott Cove. I’ve also came up with another story set in the Trescott. Man I love the town. With each story I do in this town I’m drawn in. Here hoping when I get ready to sub the series to a publiaher they’ll take it. I can’t wait to bring you the stories I’ve written and have planned for the town. The town and people are very interesting.

Still waiting to hear on the submissions I made to various places. Yeah like I mentioned last week it’s the circle in full effect.

Anyway that’s it for now. I plan to spend my weekend doing more orginization and get more done on BTS and organizing my series combination project.

Still working on combining some of the series I had planned. In doing this I found that yeah I needed to combine badly. LOL.

I announced yesterday I was now a part of a wonderful group of authors called Simply Irresistible Authors. I will be blogging at the SIA Blog on Thursday’s. My first blog post will be next week, February 14, 2008. Yep Valentine’s Day {Grin}. Come on by and check me out and please comment so I don’t look too lonely. Talking with myself. LOL.

Still writing Beyond the Surface which is a book set in Trescott Cove. Each story I do in this town makes me fall in love with the town and people there even more.

Made a few submissions to various places. Now I have to wait for responses. In writing it’s a circle. Write, Edit Submit and Wait. Once you get accepted it’s a whole other circle you go through. Hmmm… an idea for a future blog. LOL.

Anyway that’s it for now. I plan to spend my weekend finishing BTS and organizing my series combination project.

The Series Combination

Monday, February 4th, 2008

I was going through my computer files and came across info on various books I have. Yeah I mentioned I love series so I have lots of them started. Too many to actually do in many lifetimes. LOL. So I went in and read through them and realized I could combine some of them. So I’m combining the series I could and streamlined my information.

It was fun to revisit the characters I created.

Writing Dynamics – Building Families and Worlds

Monday, January 14th, 2008

I hit the new year running. Writing and submitting books. Still waiting to hear on some submissions I have out there.

I’ve met my editor for Conquering Jazz and submitted the cover art request. CJ is the first in a series called Sultry Nights. Can’t wait to see what they come up with for it. I’m excited.

Along with becoming a soon to be published author I have to think of ways to promote Conquering Jazz and my future books. So I’ve been checking on ad space at various places. There is a lot to do to besides getting a book edited for release. Thankfully I collect information like a pack rat. LOL. So I have lots of things on promotion and so on.

I’ve been working towards this and am {gulp} ready for it. So gathering my info and making some decisions. Last year I got a lot of writing done and built my catalog of books. Now to get them contracted and continue writing.

I was talking with a friend the other day about our writing calendars. I’ve kept a writing calendar for years which keeps me on track with my writing goals. Helps me plot my series and so on. The one thing me and my friend agreed on besides having calendar is a must is having flexibility. Yes flexibility. Things happen. Daily life, new stories popping up and so on. I made my calendar with rooms for flexibility.

Now that Conquering Jazz is contracted and will be out soon this is more key than ever. Besides the romance I like to build families. Whether by blood or by choice there are so many family dynamics to explore. So no matter if it is a contemporary, mystery, paranormal, sci fi or any genre out there I build a dynamic of characters. There is nothing better.

Before I left to go into my writing mode I mentioned I was building families and that s what I’ve done.

I’ve finished Turning the Tables which is book two of the Sultry Nights series. I still have edits to do on it but it is done. I’m going to leave it for a little then go back with a fresh mind and do edits then submit it.

I’ve also finished Beyond the Temptation which is a story set in Trescott Cove. One of the towns we are using on the site Satin Notes. It features a hero that blew me away and a heroine who is unexpected. {grin}

I’m currently finishing up Beyond the Surface which is also a book set in Trescott Cove. When I created Trescott I feel in love and have a few books set in the town. As you can see I have a lot of writing I’m doing and it feels great.

If you haven’t checked it out. Go by Satin Notes – http://www.satinnotes.com the free read site I along with Aliyah Burke and Taige Crenshaw have. Each Friday we post a new chapter to our current free read. The first and second chapter of Cami’s Surrender is now available. We’re already have so many ideas flowing for the stories in these two towns. I’ve already plotted my story that I will be having published somewhere when done.

As I mentioned before it will be busy year and lots of fun. Here’s to a wild ride and lots of reads.

Happy Reading!

Site redesign and catching up…..

Thursday, September 6th, 2007

I’ve been absent these last few month’s and with good reason. I have been busy writing and editing.

I mentioned I would be having a site updates. Well I decided to take it a step further and have a complete redesign done. It’s time for a change. So if you do go by my sites you probably won’t find some pages as they have been removed. This redesign will take a little while so please be patience.

I do have something special planned to commemorate the launch of my new site design. Until then you can find me at my chat group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/McKennaJeffriesList or here at my blog for what is going on with me.

I will be posting a few exclusive sneak peeks of some of what I have been working on at my chat group and a few other things.

So catch me up. What has been going on with you?
