Together, they will have to decide if it’s worth it to take a chance on a wicked burn.

One night as she stood in the kitchen barefoot, making herself a salad for dinner, the doorbell chimed. Munching on a carrot, she walked to the door and pulled it open. The sight on the other side almost caused her to choke. The man who’d been haunting her dreams stood there, holding the cute little girl in his arms, a bag on one shoulder.
“H…h…hi,” she managed to mutter. Holy hell, he’s even hotter than I remember from my dreams.
Shelby cooed and reached for her, and without thought, Yasmine took her into her arms. The gentle scent of innocence washed over her.
“Would you believe we were in the neighborhood?” One side of his mouth curved up in a disarming smile. Yet she could see in the depths of his eyes more than a bit uncertainty.
Did she? And did she really care? “Come on in,” she said, stepping back to allow them in the house.
“We’re not interrupting, are we?” he asked as he moved past her.
“Nope. Just fixing a bite to eat before Rufus and I go for a walk.”
“Rufus?” Sedeo asked.
Jerking her head toward the door, she said, “The one putting nose prints on my sliding glass door.”
“Puppy!” Shelby cried and struggled to get down.
With a smile, Yasmine set her on her feet, well aware that Rufus was fine with kids.
“Is she…is he okay? Will she…?” Sedeo babbled.
Without thought, she placed a hand on his arm and said, “She’ll be fine. Rufus loves kids.”
The heat from his skin seared her palm, and she swallowed rapidly. Removing her hand, she moved to the door, opening it to allow Rufus to come inside. Keeping her gaze on the two on the floor, she made sure all was good between dog and child. She longed to stand near him again, but part of her make-up was following the rules and doing what was best. Getting involved with Sedeo Parker was not what was best.
A shadow fell over her, and she looked up at the man who stood a few inches taller than her. He stared down at her with a longing in his gaze. Her belly churned, and her legs became shaky. Everything in the room shrank to the two of them, nothing more, and nothing less. In slow motion, he cupped the side of her face and lowered his mouth to hers.
Nothing else mattered, aside from the fact his lips were nearing hers. At first touch, she whimpered. His lips were made for kissing. He nibbled gently before covering her mouth. She moaned as his tongue slid along her lips and sought entrance. Yasmine opened on a sigh.
It was a slow exploration of the recess of her mouth, and Yasmine allowed him to set his pace. Her fingers curled into her palms so she didn’t grab him. It was over almost before it started, and when he pulled back, his eyes swirled with barely restrained passion.

She inhaled sharply. His eyes followed the movement of her agitated breathing. He looked at her, a fine sheen of sweat coating his face. Jasmine followed the trickle of sweat traveling down his face as it disappeared below his shirt. Her palms dampened as her breathing accelerated.
“I want you hot,” she said.
“How hot do you want it?” Reese growled.
“Steaming…a raging inferno.”
“I can do that. But are you sure you can handle it?” The arrogance was even more obvious in his tone.
Jasmine looked at him with a challenge in her eyes. “Don’t worry about me. Worry about yourself.” She looked deeply into his eyes. They were familiar, but she felt as if she was seeing him for the first time.
“You should worry, Jasmine. I’m going to burn you up.”
“I don’t want to lose you as my friend,” she said, trying to slow things down. “If we do this, I feel that I will.”
He muttered under his breath. “What?” she asked.
“Not ‘if’, but ‘when’, Jasmine. ‘When’ we do this,” he repeated.
“Okay. ‘When’ we do this, it’s only between us, in this room, together. I don’t want any misunderstandings. My brothers aren’t to know. No one is to know. It’s between you and me. And after this is done I don’t want to lose your friendship.”
Reese contemplated what she asked. He couldn’t believe, after the long wait, she was finally going to be his. He couldn’t tell her the truth; she wasn’t ready for it. He couldn’t think, with the scent of her arousal filling him. He wanted to devour her, and would agree to anything to have her.
Reese chose the safest answer his desire-fuddled brain could come up with. “You won’t lose me, Jasmine.”
She interrupted him. “I feel like I already am. Why aren’t you calling me Jazz?”
He let his hungry gaze roam, taking in her smooth mocha complexion, chocolate brown eyes, high sculptured cheeks, and luscious mouth, which was begging for him to taste it. Reese resisted reaching over and biting her lush lips.
His gaze lowered, then his mouth watered as he took in her bountiful breasts rising below her snug T-shirt. His eyes traced down her jean-clad, lush hips to the groove between her legs. Reese wet his dry lips, looking at her long legs, imagining how they would wrap around him as he drove deep within her hot, wet canal.
Finally, he raised his gaze to lock with hers. “Because I’m going to be deep inside you while you beg and scream my name for mercy. I see you as Jasmine, a sexy woman, not just Jazz, my friend. Our being friends won’t change. I’ll call you Jazz outside, but in here, every time we’re together, you’re Jasmine, the woman I want, the one whose nails I want to sink deep into my back as I take you every way and any way we can think of.”
“Every time? There will only be this once.”
“No. Once won’t be enough. Hell, even ten times may not be enough. I want you for as long as it takes for both of us to be satisfied. If you only want this one time, then forget it. We can try and pretend this didn’t happen. But if you’re ready for fulfillment of anything and everything you or I can imagine, then tell me yes.”
Stark silence followed. Watching the indecision on her face made a feeling of unease knot his stomach. He hoped she would give him a chance to show her how good it could be between them. He barely heard her whispered answer over the roaring in his ears.
“Yes.”

His fist clenched, thinking of Jasmine’s refusal to acknowledge that they had more than just amazing sex. Scowling, he slammed down the water on the marble counter and walked to the door off to the side of the kitchen.
Opening it, he stepped into a tastefully decorated bedroom. Reese stripped as he made his way to the bathroom. Turning on the shower, he stepped in and lathered up.
Why is she so damned stubborn? Everything can’t be her way.
Quickly, he stepped out of the shower and dried off, leaving the towel draped around his hips. Reese cut back through the kitchen, then the living room, going up the stairs to his bedroom. Entering his bedroom, he was startled, then pleased, to see Jasmine sleeping face down in bed. Reese felt as if his heart would burst out of his chest. Walking over to stand at the foot of the bed, he memorized her beautiful, sculpted face as she slept. The high cheekbones, soft, lush mouth, and stubborn chin, all leading down to her bare, smooth mocha shoulders.
Her soft breaths echoed in the room. Looking at her firm, naked leg sticking out of the covers, he was aware of blood rushing to his cock, His body throbbed with the need to claim her and make her completely his. He padded on silent feet to the dresser, stripping off the towel and retrieving some condoms.
Glancing up at the mirror above the cherry wood dresser, he saw his features tightened with desire, his eyes hardened with purpose. He felt the call of his mate. Stifling the growl that came to his throat, he returned to the bed. He kept one condom, throwing the rest on the nightstand. He went to the foot of the bed, ripping open the condom, then smoothing it onto his straining erection. Stroking himself, he gently removed the covers from Jasmine. She didn’t stir. Silently, he vowed that, after tonight, she would be his.

Fury like she had never felt before licked up her spine as her fist clenched and she took a step forward.
“You really think you know what I want. You don’t know anything about me. ” She spaced out each word gritting her teeth.
The cool look he shot her only added to her anger. She took another step towards him until she was almost in his face. Genesis ignored the tug of passion she felt at his nearness.
“Nobody tell me what to do especially you.” A sudden tiredness overcame her. She couldn’t go through this again. “Just get the hell out and stay away from me.”
Turning she walked away from him. Hunter grabbed her and turned her around to face him. Instinctively she swung. He caught her hand and pulled her into him. Furious she fought him. He jerked her off her feet even in his anger he was gentle. The breath caught in her lungs as she felt the hard masculine body against her’s. The anger in his amber eyes gave her a slight thrill.
“I can damn well do what I want. When you’re with me you’re mine.” His tone was cold and precise.
Opening her mouth to curse him out the words stalled in her throat as he continued.
“Like I am yours Genesis. Yours.” The words seemed to be dragged out of him. “No one will get between us. No man will touch you as long as your mine. Damn you.” His lips crashed against her.
Unable to help herself she locked her arms around his head and kissed him back with a passion to equal his own.

Jermaine enjoyed watching her puff up ready to blast him.
He cut her off before she could get started. “I was busy watching your lovely mouth. Do you know you have a delicious bottom lip?” He paused then lowering his voice he continued. “I’d like to bite on it. Would you let me?”
She let out a quick inhalation.
That knocked the winds out if your sails huh. He added silently.
Mia gaze heated to pools of desire. Suddenly she slammed that blasted cold look on her face that posted in neon letters ‘look but no touchy’. Biting off a curse Jermaine promised himself he was definitely going to make her stop giving him that look.
Mia yawned as if bored then speared him with a lethal glare. “No. Can we get back to business? Or do you need to vent your gonads some more first?”
He winced at her caustic tone. Jermaine could think of a few things he’d like to do with that vicious tongue of hers- all involving various parts of his anatomy. Deciding not to let her provoke him into a fight as she had done in the past few weeks to avoid his sexual advances Jermaine smiled.
“My gonads are fine. We’re just looking for a nice wet, soft, and hot home.” He stated silkily.
The vicious look she levered towards his crotch made him shift uncomfortably.
Damn, even when she is giving me the eye like she wants to cut my friend off it makes me want her. I’ve got to get her out of my system. Oh, It’s going to be a pleasure- my pleasure to teach her a lesson she’ll never forget. Come to Jermaine’s school of carnal bliss baby where pleasure is not only guaranteed but a must.
Her melodious voice cut at him. “I have a nice jar I’ve been meaning to find a use for.”
“A jar wouldn’t be big enough for what I want to give you.”
Racking him with disbelief on her face Mia replied. “Bite me.”
“With cream. Anytime.”
She rolled her eyes before saying. “Whatever. As I was saying before your libido got in the way. The party your firm is having-.”
Smiling at her Jermaine let her change the subject- for now.

Breathing a sigh of relief Mia Carrington looked at the delicious specimen sitting before her – Jermaine Hamlin. He lounged in her chair with a sexual grace only he had. She wondered what he would do if she made a jungle woman leap over the desk and attacked him. She chuckled softly.
Absently Mia responded to his question as she continued to study him. Listening to the smooth cadence of his voice Mia could almost believe he liked her. She wasn’t fooling herself Jermaine hadn’t changed his mind about her one bit. He wanted her now because of that one kiss they shared over six month’s ago.
Kiss is that what you’re calling it. Why have you dreamt about it so often if it was just a kiss?
Conceding to her inner voice she admitted reluctantly it was more than a kiss. She had wanted to taste Jermaine for years but because of circumstances and his nasty attitude she had never had the chance. Now she had she was starved to taste him, often as she could. Shaking her head Mia wasn’t about to let Jermaine know that or take him up on his offer. For month’s she had ignored his subtle sexual overtures. She knew Jermaine may want her now but he would get over it soon.
After today’s incident she knew she had to do something more forceful to dissuade him for his own good.
For your own good you mean. Take him Mia like you’ve always wanted too.
