E-book Reader Wager

Monday, February 18th, 2008

The new JD Robb book Strangers in Death come out tomorrow. Since I love this series and my friend Taige loves it too. We made a friendly wager. The bet is to see who will finish reading it first. So as soon as the store opens tomorrow we’re going to go and but our books then go to our respective corners and read. May the best reader win. {Grin} The big fat prize for the wager is a Sony E-Book reader. Oh yeah. Besides reading a book I’m sure I’m going to enjoy. I get an e-book reader. If you read my out of ink post you know I need one.

It is so on to see who wins first. {singing the rocky theme song under my breath as I stretch those reading muscles)

Bring it on Taige, that reader is mine.

Weekly Update

Still hard at work combining some of the series I had planned. I woudl be finished but I keep stopping and reading what I wrote then I get caught up in story and add notes. LOL. So still working on that..

Did my first blog at the SIA Blog  yesterday. Each week Thursday’s will be my blog day.

Didn’t get any writing done on Beyond the Surface. Read above for reason why. Oh yeah I did realize BTS will be longer than I had planned so will take more time. Will have to work on that this week. Beyond the Surface is a book set in Trescott Cove. I’ve also came up with another story set in the Trescott. Man I love the town. With each story I do in this town I’m drawn in. Here hoping when I get ready to sub the series to a publiaher they’ll take it. I can’t wait to bring you the stories I’ve written and have planned for the town. The town and people are very interesting.

Still waiting to hear on the submissions I made to various places. Yeah like I mentioned last week it’s the circle in full effect.

Anyway that’s it for now. I plan to spend my weekend doing more orginization and get more done on BTS and organizing my series combination project.

On the Shelf ~ Men and Historicals Anyone

Wednesday, February 13th, 2008

Well I finished the books in Aliyah Burke’s The Megalodon Team Series {Wicked laugh} begged a friend to print them for me. This friend and I are shopping to find a e-book reader so we don’t have the run out of ink problem. LOL. Boy all of the Men Books were good. Can’t say anymore since I don’t want to give away anything.

After that I went to read some historicals. Julie Garwood to be percise. Although I love all of Julie’s books (yeah I love the contemporay Buchanan) my fav’s are. These are in no paticular order.

Saving Grace

The Secret

The Bride

The Wedding

Shadow Music (I got this the day it released and read it in on sitting)

So I’ve been busyily reading historicals.

What have you been reading?

On the Screen ~ Turning the Tables

Tuesday, February 12th, 2008

Here is an excerpt from my novel Turning the Tables.

Turning the Tables
By: McKenna Jeffries
Series: Sultry Nights ~ Book 2
Genre: Contemporary

Un-Edited Excerpt
Jermaine enjoyed watching her puff up ready to blast him.

He cut her off before she could get started. “I was busy watching your lovely mouth. Do you know you have a delicious bottom lip?” He paused then lowering his voice he continued. “I’d like to bite on it. Would you let me?”

She let out a quick inhalation.

That knocked the winds out if your sails huh. He added silently.

Mia gaze heated to pools of desire. Suddenly she slammed that blasted cold look on her face that posted in neon letters ‘look but no touchy’. Biting off a curse Jermaine promised himself he was definitely going to make her stop giving him that look.

Mia yawned as if bored then speared him with a lethal glare. “No. Can we get back to business? Or do you need to vent your gonads some more first?”

He winced at her caustic tone. Jermaine could think of a few things he’d like to do with that vicious tongue of hers- all involving various parts of his anatomy. Deciding not to let her provoke him into a fight as she had done in the past few weeks to avoid his sexual advances Jermaine smiled.

“My gonads are fine. We’re just looking for a nice wet, soft, and hot home.” He stated silkily.

The vicious look she levered towards his crotch made him shift uncomfortably.

Damn, even when she is giving me the eye like she wants to cut my friend off it makes me want her. I’ve got to get her out of my system. Oh, It’s going to be a pleasure- my pleasure to teach her a lesson she’ll never forget. Come to Jermaine’s school of carnal bliss baby where pleasure is not only guaranteed but a must.

Her melodious voice cut at him. “I have a nice jar I’ve been meaning to find a use for.”

“A jar wouldn’t be big enough for what I want to give you.”

Racking him with disbelief on her face Mia replied. “Bite me.”

“With cream. Anytime.”

She rolled her eyes before saying. “Whatever. As I was saying before your libido got in the way. The party your firm is having-.”

Smiling at her Jermaine let her change the subject- for now.

Breathing a sigh of relief Mia Carrington looked at the delicious specimen sitting before her – Jermaine Hamlin. He lounged in her chair with a sexual grace only he had. She wondered what he would do if she made a jungle woman leap over the desk and attacked him. She chuckled softly.

Absently Mia responded to his question as she continued to study him. Listening to the smooth cadence of his voice Mia could almost believe he liked her. She wasn’t fooling herself Jermaine hadn’t changed his mind about her one bit. He wanted her now because of that one kiss they shared over six month’s ago.

Kiss is that what you’re calling it. Why have you dreamt about it so often if it was just a kiss?

Conceding to her inner voice she admitted reluctantly it was more than a kiss. She had wanted to taste Jermaine for years but because of circumstances and his nasty attitude she had never had the chance. Now she had she was starved to taste him, often as she could. Shaking her head Mia wasn’t about to let Jermaine know that or take him up on his offer. For month’s she had ignored his subtle sexual overtures. She knew Jermaine may want her now but he would get over it soon.

After today’s incident she knew she had to do something more forceful to dissuade him for his own good.

For your own good you mean. Take him Mia like you’ve always wanted too.

Life

Tuesday, February 12th, 2008

We’re having a baby. No, not me. My cousin called me this morning and told me she was pregnant. Yay! A new life is coming. After last night we needed some good news.

I made sure to tell her no stalking allowed this time. Long story. Let’s just say I was stalked the first time she was pregnant. Being stalked by a pregnant woman who wants to share all the details. And I do mean all the details of her pregnancy. Stuff people like me who doesn’t have any kids but hopefully plan to have some someday should not know until they are pregnant. Yeesh man I know more about being pregnant than I ever need too. Between my sister and cousin who loved to share. Oy.

So if you are reading this pregnant lady. Uh huh no stalking allowed this time. {Grin} Congrats.

On the Shelf ~ Ink, reading and The Men

Wednesday, February 6th, 2008

Ugh… I need ink for my printer. I just bought some not even a month ago. Sigh. The reason I need ink so soon is my printing out all those e-books to read. I like to curl up in a chair and read so I print it. Were the books worth my going through all that ink? You bet ya sweet fanny it was. {Grin}. It’s the books in Aliyah Burke’s The Megalodon Team Series. {Wicked laugh} She’s given me a sneak peek of the new version of all of them. Even some that were never previously published. I can see why readers are still clamoring for them even though they haven’t been re-released yet. All I can say is boy I hope readers get a chance to read them soon. I had a blast reading them and am in deep love.

My only complaint is I’m out of ink and need to print out some more of the books so I can finish them. I’m in the middle of reading the series. Ughhhhh…..

Note to self invest in an e-book reader.
