I hit the new year running. Writing and submitting books. Still waiting to hear on some submissions I have out there.
I’ve met my editor for Conquering Jazz and submitted the cover art request. CJ is the first in a series called Sultry Nights. Can’t wait to see what they come up with for it. I’m excited.
Along with becoming a soon to be published author I have to think of ways to promote Conquering Jazz and my future books. So I’ve been checking on ad space at various places. There is a lot to do to besides getting a book edited for release. Thankfully I collect information like a pack rat. LOL. So I have lots of things on promotion and so on.
I’ve been working towards this and am {gulp} ready for it. So gathering my info and making some decisions. Last year I got a lot of writing done and built my catalog of books. Now to get them contracted and continue writing.
I was talking with a friend the other day about our writing calendars. I’ve kept a writing calendar for years which keeps me on track with my writing goals. Helps me plot my series and so on. The one thing me and my friend agreed on besides having calendar is a must is having flexibility. Yes flexibility. Things happen. Daily life, new stories popping up and so on. I made my calendar with rooms for flexibility.
Now that Conquering Jazz is contracted and will be out soon this is more key than ever. Besides the romance I like to build families. Whether by blood or by choice there are so many family dynamics to explore. So no matter if it is a contemporary, mystery, paranormal, sci fi or any genre out there I build a dynamic of characters. There is nothing better.
Before I left to go into my writing mode I mentioned I was building families and that s what I’ve done.
I’ve finished Turning the Tables which is book two of the Sultry Nights series. I still have edits to do on it but it is done. I’m going to leave it for a little then go back with a fresh mind and do edits then submit it.
I’ve also finished Beyond the Temptation which is a story set in Trescott Cove. One of the towns we are using on the site Satin Notes. It features a hero that blew me away and a heroine who is unexpected. {grin}
I’m currently finishing up Beyond the Surface which is also a book set in Trescott Cove. When I created Trescott I feel in love and have a few books set in the town. As you can see I have a lot of writing I’m doing and it feels great.
If you haven’t checked it out. Go by Satin Notes – http://www.satinnotes.com the free read site I along with Aliyah Burke and Taige Crenshaw have. Each Friday we post a new chapter to our current free read. The first and second chapter of Cami’s Surrender is now available. We’re already have so many ideas flowing for the stories in these two towns. I’ve already plotted my story that I will be having published somewhere when done.
As I mentioned before it will be busy year and lots of fun. Here’s to a wild ride and lots of reads.
Happy Reading!
